Bob Dean

Director of Football Operations, Bob Dean is back for his third season with AFC Ohio having co-founded the group in 2021, serving as Head Coach during their inaugural season. Bob spent 11 years as a head coach at the collegiate level after winning the 2000 OHSAA Division I Girls State Championship with Hudson High School. His Explorers teams played in five (5) OHSAA “Final Fours,” four (4) Division I state championship matches, including three-consecutive from 1999-2001. He coached over 40 All-Ohio players, over 60 players that competed collegiately, and four (4) All-Americans. He was recognized with the Ron Pinsenchaum “Ethics & Integrity in Coaching” award by the OHSAA and OSSCA and is a two-time OHSAA Ohio “Coach of the Year” recipient. Dean transitioned to collegiate coaching in 2004 to rebuild the Hiram Terriers program from scratch. He still holds the all-time women’s soccer wins record at Hiram College where he brought in the six largest recruiting classes in the history of the Terriers Women’s Soccer program. Dean has been a Director of Coaching at three (3) different northeast Ohio youth clubs, as well as an academy director that produced over 40 collegiate players in eight (8) years. Dean’s step into administration coincided with joining Ambassadors FC in 2017 as a youth coach, where after four (4) years coaching the u19 boys team, he helped found AFC Ohio as the men’s u23/senior Pro-Development team. His 2021 team lifted the Northern Ohio Soccer League Trophy at the conclusion of their first season with the team completing an unbeaten league campaign. Dean holds two national licenses from the United States Soccer Federation, including the prestigious National Youth License. Additionally, he earned a National diploma from United Soccer Coaches, as well as a UEFA preliminary badge from the Royal Dutch Football Federation (KNVB).
